Today I was notified, that a new Version of the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client is available.

When you start the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client, it checks for Updates and you can see a green arrow, that indicates an Update

You can check the Versions by selecting the three dots on top right and select “About”

I’ve come across a Domain, where there are a ton of Group Policies. So i was looking for a way to figure out if the Group Policy is still used. One way to figure out is to check if the Group Policy is linked to an Active Directory OU or Site. There might be still some Group Policys that are not Linked that might be used from time to Time to Test things or used for diffrent Szenarios. But even identifying such not “actively” used Group Policys could help to decrease the amount of Group Policies in that Domain.

Seems not to be updated to the 6081 Version

When you start the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client, it checks for Updates and you can see a green arrow, that indicates an Update

Highlights

• New utility: ZoomIt - a screen zoom, annotation, and recording tool for technical presentations and demos. This utility from Sysinternals has had its source code released and included in PowerToys. ZoomIt will still continue to be updated and shipped by Sysinternals for users who prefer to have it as a standalone utility outside of PowerToys. Thanks @markrussinovich, @foxmsft and @johnstep for contributing the original code and reviewing the PowerToys integration!
• Video Conference Mute has been deprecated and was removed from PowerToys.
• .Net 9.0.1 fixed many issue in WPF, improving stability for PowerToys Run.
