New Microsoft 365 Apps Icons are now consistent

New Microsoft 365 Apps Icons are now consistent

Hi All,

Microsoft has annouced their Refesh on the Microsoft 365 Apps Icons on first October.

Summary by copilot:

Microsoft has refreshed its Microsoft 365 iconography to reflect a deeper shift in design philosophy. Moving from rigid shapes to fluid, dynamic forms and vibrant colors, the update signals a transition from tool-centric design to outcome-driven experiences. These icons embody simplicity, approachability, and motion—inviting collaboration between humans and AI. The redesign emphasizes connection and coherence, not just visually, but through seamless, intelligent workflows across the Microsoft ecosystem. It’s a subtle yet powerful symbol of how design adapts to an era where intent and context guide user experiences

New Outlook for Windows - Public Preview

New Outlook for Windows - Public Preview

Hi All,

I’ve tested out the New Outlook (aka “One Outlook”) almost a year ago.

Now it is in public Preview and everybody can test it. It’s a Windows Program that uses WebView2 Techology to render OWA Sites in a Window - comparable to a Progressive Web App (PWA).

Getting started with the new Outlook for Windows

There are still some limitations:

  • the new Outlook for Windows does not support other account types like Yahoo!, iCloud, or other account types connecting through POP/IMAP protocols.
  • New Outlook for Windows also does not currently support On-Premises, Hybrid, or Sovereign Exchange deployments.
  • No PST file support
  • No Offline Functionality (announced to be available soon)
  • ICS Files are not supported
  • Automapped Mailboxes are not shown
  • COM Add-ins are not supported

To turn on the Functionalty use the Switch on top left of Outlook

Outlook Calendar - you can't add Distribution List to Calendar Group

Outlook Calendar - you can't add Distribution List to Calendar Group

Hi All,

Today i had a Supportcase, where the User was not able to add a Distribution List to a Calendar Group. I was pretty sure, that this is possible. Done that many times in the past.

In Outlook Calendar > Add Calendar > From Address Book

Select a Distribution Group

Let’s check the Members

You get the Error Message: We can’t add the calendars of everyone in this distribution List (Distribution List Name). Please add each calendar individually.

You need to have an RBAC Admin Role that allows Application Impersonation and assign an Account.

If you don’t have that Role you can create it

M365 Groups dumped in Outlook for Windows?

Hi All,

Yesterday i stumbled across something odd. Did not see the M365 Groups in Outlook for Windows anymore. They seem to be gone in the newest Version.

Let’s start at the beginning. Office in the Current Channel

Outlook Profile is set up with Cached Mode (without Chached Mode you don’t see the M365 Groups either).

As you can see the Groups are listed here

The cached Files are stored in C:\Users<Username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

M365 Apps for Enterprise got a slightly new Design

Hi All,

I’ve updated my Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise to 2209. There are several lightly new Designs to see…

Outlook has also a refreshed Design and shows Tasks and ToDo in the Navigation Pane on the left Top.

The ToDo does not work here

I like the new Design of OneNote

Outlook Editor Options Paste Text only

Hi All,

As many of you i use a lot of Copy & Paste when creating Emails.
By default, the Format of the Source will be used - but did you know that you can change that?

These are the default Settings

If you select and copy a few Lines from a Website

This will happen - and you need to use the Paste Context Menu to select "Text only"

I've changed it to "Text only" in the Outlook Options

When i paste now, by default the Text only is pasted

You still can use the Paste Content Menü and select "Keep orginal formating"

Automatische Antworten für Shared Mailbox in OWA erfassen

Hallo zusammen,

In Outlook for Windows sind wir uns gewöhnt, die Abwesenheitsmeldung in den Einstellungen vorzunehmen. Das funktioniert aber für Shared Mailboxen nicht.

Der einfachste Weg ist hier übers Outlook on the Web. Voraussetzung ist hier natürlich, dass man Vollzugriff (Full Access) auf die Shared Mailbox hat.

Links oben klickt man auf das Bild oder den Kreis mit dem Buchstaben und wählt dann "Weiteres Postfach öffnen"
