Hi All,

The 39C3 (39th Chaos Communication Congress) was held in Hamburg from December 27–30, 2025. Organized by the Chaos Computer Club and volunteers, this four-day event featured over 160 talks and workshops covering hacking, hardware, AI, digital rights, and the societal implications of technology—under the motto “Power Cycles.” It brought together hackers, activists, artists, and technologists in a collaborative “temporary city” for critical discourse, creative exchange, and hands-on experimentation.

Hi All,

Just short bevore christmas, i received a new Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 for business from my Company.

Hardware:

  • 15" Screen
  • Black
  • Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 Prozessor 165H
  • 32GB RAM
  • 1TB SSD

The setup was quickly done, and the required Software was immediately installed. After several Weeks of use, i can say i am very happy with this device.

I noticed the heart symbol, below the Battery and wondered what it does mean.

Replace Harddisk on HP ML 350e

Hallo zusammen,

Bei meinem alten HP ML 350e Server musste ich kürzlich die Harddisk wechseln.
Im ILO sieht man, dass die System Health degraded war.


Schnell wird klar, etwas ist mit dem Storage


Eine Harddisk meldet "predictive Failure" - wird also bald ausfallen.


Dass etwas nicht in Ordnung ist sieht man auch im VMware ESXi


Oder im VMware VCenter



Also rasch eine neue Harddisk bestellt und alte raus, neue Disk rein.


Das RAID1 hatte nicht mal 1 Stunde zum rebuilden benötigt


Danach war alles wieder in Ordnung


Auch im VMware VCenter ist alles wieder auf grün


Und ebenso im VMware ESXi

Neue Client Hardware nach 12 Jahren

Hallo zusammen,

Nach etwa 12 Jahren (man stelle sich das mal vor), habe ich kürzlich neue Hardware für meinen Client bestellt. Mein altes Mainboard mit Intel Prozessor stammt aus dem 2009. Klar gab es da im Verlauf der Zeit auch ein paar Updates wie:

  • Upgrade von HHD auf SSD
  • Memory Upgrade von 8 GB auf 16 GB
  • Der CPU Lüfter musste mal ersetzt werden
  • Zwei Netzteile habe ich geschlissen
  • Neue Grafikkarte hat es mal gegeben

Nun war es nun an der Zeit, wieder mal aktuelle Hardware zu besorgen. Insbesondere Motherboard und diesmal mit AMD Prozessor.

Ich besitze ein Surface Laptop 3 mit Intel Prozessor. Dafür wurde kürzlich ein neues Driver and Firmware Update veröffentlicht. Das Update schlägt mit satten 550 MB zu buche.

Nach dem Download einfach das *.msi ausführen

Nach Beendigung der Installation muss der Computer neu gestartet werden

Testbericht Nanlite PavoTube für Teams Meetings

Hallo zusammen,

Ich habe mir Anfangs Februar eine zusätzliche Beleuchtung für die Teams Besprechungen gekauft. Meine Wahl ist auf eine Nanlite PavoTube II 6C gefallen. Dieser Leuchtstab kostet knapp 100 Franken.

Nebst der Leuchte ist eine Stoffhülle, ein Bändel mit dem gägigen 1/4" Gewinde, einem USB Kabel und der Bedienungsanleitung. Ausserdem sind zwei kleine Metallplättchen dabei, welche irgendwo aufgeklebt werden können und dann die Leuchte magnetisch festhalten.
